About World of Red Raven

The Story Behind Red Raven Pottery and World of Red Raven: Handmade with Love and Resilience

Hello, my name is Babette, and I warmly welcome you to World of Red Raven - a world where handmade ceramics, art and accessories come together with curious trinkets and grounded rituals chosen with intention. What began with Red Raven Pottery has gradually grown into the strange and characterful collection you see today.

Born in Utrecht in 1981 and shaped by a life full of challenges, I have found strength, healing and expression through art and creativity.

When I was 15, I lost my mother. Just two years later, my father passed away as well, leaving my brother and me to navigate life on our own. My brother sadly lost his battle with mental health and addiction. By that time, I was a mother of three- trapped in an abusive relationship, struggling to survive and protect my children. I endured years of emotional trauma, PTSD, and chronic pain from fibromyalgia.

But through it all, my children were my anchor. Music, creativity, and love kept me going. A few years ago, I found joy again, fell in love, and remarried. Now, from our cozy home - shared with my youngest child, my husband, and our beloved rescue dogs - I’ve built a life rooted in peace and purpose.

Three years ago, I took a leap into something I had always dreamed of: my own pottery studio. What started as a personal passion has blossomed into my full-time calling -creating unique, handmade ceramics that are full of heart, story, and soul. I now run my own home studio and sell my creations through my Etsy and Shopify shops.

Every piece I make carries a little of my journey - resilience, transformation and love. Whether you are looking for a handmade mug or bowl, a curious gift, a meaningful ritual object or an unusual piece for your home, I hope you find something here that speaks to you.

Thank you for being part of this story - you arrived at the perfect time!
